Monks Split GNAC Tri-Match

STANDISH, Maine - Saint Joseph's College (9-15, 4-6 GNAC) split a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's volleyball tri-match at the Harold Alfond Center on Saturday afternoon. The Monks opened with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-15) loss to Rivier University (21-6, 9-1 GNAC) and closed out the day with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-19) win over Albertus Magnus College (11-14, 3-9 GNAC).

In the middle match, Rivier shutout Albertus Magnus with 25-14, 25-15, and 25-14 set victories.

RIVIER 3, SAINT JOSEPH'S 0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-15)

The Raiders held the lead in kills (34-18), assists (32-17), aces (10-2), digs (43-28), and total blocks (5-4) in the shutout triumph.


  • Sophomore Erin Olson (Stoughton, Mass.) tallied eight kills with a .250 hitting percentage and posted three block solos
  • Senior Jennelle Thompson (Rochester, N.H.) added 11 digs
  • Senior Sarah Dyer (Seabrook, N.H.) contributed eight assists and six digs


  • Taylor Dunster boasted 10 kills and nine digs
  • Avery Pollard added seven kills, seven assists, seven digs, and two aces
  • Hayley Macken posted 19 assists and four digs

SAINT JOSEPH'S 3, ALBERTUS MAGNUS 0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-19)

The Monks led in kills (40-24), assists (40-24), aces (9-3), digs (65-63), and blocks (5-0) in the 3-0 victory.


  • Junior Kelsey Bickford (Somersworth, N.H.) delivered 15 kills with a .351 attack rate, three aces, and five digs
  • Dyer tallied six kills, 22 assists, and nine digs
  • Sophomore Sophia Randall (Epping, N.H.) added four kills, 14 assists, and 11 digs
  • Thompson posted 26 digs


  • Genesis Cora Luquis notched a double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs
  • Vanessa Isyk chipped in with six kills
  • Jaiden Williams contributed 21 assists and eight digs
  • Summer Onorato added four kills and 11 digs

RIVIER 3, ALBERTUS MAGNUS 0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-14)

The Raiders posted considerable advantages in kills (39-19), assists (38-18), aces (12-2) and digs (29-22) in the middle match.


  • Taylor Dunster delivered 11 kills on 15 attempts with a fantastic .667 attack percentage and nine digs
  • Hayley Macken registered four kills, 30 assists, and seven digs
  • Emma Soucy added six kills and four total blocks (three solo)
  • Leah Giampietro belted six service aces with four digs


  • Vanessa Isyk posted a .333 attack percentage with 10 kills in 21 attempts
  • Jaiden Williams tallied 15 assists and eight digs
  • Genesis Cora Luquis chipped in with four kills, two aces, and three digs


Saint Joseph's will host University of New England on Thursday at 6:00 PM, Albertus Magnus plays at Eastern Connecticut State University on Tuesday at 7:00 PM, and Rivier hosts Salem State on Wednesday at 7:00 PM.
