Men's Basketball Program to Host Courtside at the Lake Professional Growth Day

STANDISH, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College men's basketball program will host a professional growth day, dubbed "Courtside at the Lake," on Saturday, September 15th.

The one-day clinic, is open to all Saint Joseph's alumni who are currently coaching or interested in joining the coaching ranks, former player parents, as well as friends of the St. Joe's program.  The Clinic is free and includes several breakout sessions, exclusive on-court instruction, and lunch provided by Pearson's Café, the campus dining service.

The clinic will be held at the Harold Alfond Center with check-in beginning at 8:00 AM. The first session begins at 9:00 AM.

Instructors for the event include Head Coach Rob Sanicola '99, former Head Coach and Hall of Famer Rick Simonds, former Assistant Coach John Scheinman, and David Chadbourne '87 – an SJC Hall of Famer and current head coach at Franklin Pierce. Former St. Joe's point guard Noah LaRoche '07, the owner of Integrity Hoops who has trained the likes of NBA stars Russell Westbrook, Blake Griffin and Paul George to name a few, will also be presenting at the clinic.

9:50 AM - Establishing Your Offensive Identity

David Chadbourne '87 (Men's Basketball Coach, Franklin Pierce College) 2012 NABC East Region & Northeast-10 Coach of the Year. Has guided Ravens men's basketball to the postseason 14 times. Led the program to three-consecutive NCAA Division II Tournament appearances including an East Regional Championship in 2013, and a trip to the Elite Eight

Rick Simonds (Bristol Elementary Girls Coach, Ellsworth High School Varsity Coach, Former Men's Basketball Coach and Athletic Director Saint Joseph's College (23 years/466 Wins), Associate Head Coach Davidson College, Head Coach and General Manager Portland Wave, Owner/Director Maine Renegades AAU)

11:45 AM - Mistake Makers: Wholistic Approach to Maximizing Your Players Potential

Noah LaRoche '06 (Owner/Founder Integrity Hoops) Over 10 years of player development experience at all levels. Trains some of the games greats: Russell Westbrook (NBA MVP 2017), Diana Taurasi (9 time WNBA All-Star), Paul George (NBA All-Star), Blake Griffin (NBA All Star), Jerome Robinson (Boston College/13th Pick LA Clippers 2018).

Rob Sanicola '99 (Men's Basketball Coach, Saint Joseph's College) During this time the Monks have tallied a 406-219 (.650) record including a 195-85 (.696) mark versus conference opponents. Has been voted Coach of the Year 7 different occasions as well as being part of 7 championships as a player and coach.
