STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph’s College Athletics Director Brian Curtin has announced that fundraising efforts have begun for the construction of a Hall of Fame Room.
With the goal of permanently honoring current and future Hall of Fame members in a meaningful and lasting way, this project enhances the public face of athletics to our current and future students, alumni and visitors.
The 11th Saint Joseph’s College Athletics Hall of Fame Class will be inducted on Saturday, November 9th. With the addition of the 2013 honorees, the list of accomplished athletes, teams, coaches, administrators and philanthropists grows to 68 total members.
Saint Joseph's College President Dr. James Dlugos has approved the project, which will take place in the Harold Alfond Center and transpose an existing space called the “Alumni Lounge,” located on the second floor of the Alfond Center. The room will undergo a renovation and be designed to house athletic memorabilia in wall cases proudly displaying a plaque for every Hall of Fame member. The room will continue to serve as a public space for faculty, staff, visitors and students - as well as a key recruitment tool for future students.

Founded in 2000, the Saint Joseph’s College Athletics Hall of Fame honors past athletes, faculty, staff and friends who, through their actions, have brought distinction through athletics to themselves and to Saint Joseph’s College. With the combination of the committee and members who have associations with the college and/or athletics department, the Saint Joseph’s College Hall of Fame has continued to make strides toward the future while honoring the past.
