Monks Women Place Sixth in Keene Invitational

KEENE, NH – The Saint Joseph's Women's Cross Country team placed sixth with 176 points in the Keene State College Invitational Saturday. Danielle Cusack '13 (Portland, ME/Deering) finished as the top Monks runner and placed 16th overall with a 20:43 performance in the 5K event.

With all five runners placing in the top 10, Dartmouth captured team honors with 21 team points. Keene junior Paige Mills (Keene, NH) toured the course in 18:14 to earn individual honors.

Katie Murphy '11 (Baileyville, ME) finished 39th with a 22:03 effort, while Christina Meehan '11 (Nashua, NH) (47th, 22:19), Ashley Condon '13 (Sumner, ME) (58th, 23:21), Laura Mills '13 (Mattapoisett, MA) (59th, 23:27) rounded out the top five SJC runners.

RPI placed second with 52 points, Springfield finished third with 91 points and Keene (93), Wheaton (152), St. Joe's (176), Colby-Sawyer (181), Fitchburg (237) and New England College (294) rounded out the field of participating programs.

Saint Joseph's will host the Runnin' Monks Invitational next Saturday with the women's race beginning at 11:00 AM and the men to follow at 12:00 PM.
