Monks Place Sixth in Pop Crowell Invitational

WENHAM, MA - The SJC women's cross country team earned 208 team points to finish sixth in the 37th Annual Pop Crowell Invitational on Saturday. Alysn Ludwig '09 (Waldoboro, ME) ran the 5K race in 20:27 and placed 26th in the event.

Westfield State won the women's event and posted 49 team points. Catheryn Lariviere from Emmanuel College ran the meet in 18:32 to finish as the top individual.

Katie Murphy '11 (Baileyville, ME) placed 30th (20:35), Mary Casinghino '10 (Manchester, NH) was 40th (20:49) and Tiffany Binette '11 (Biddeford, ME) earned a 50th place finish (21:02.

276 runners from 25 New England Region colleges participated in the event.

Saint Joseph's will host the Runnin' Monks Invitational next Saturday, October 11th. The women's teams will kick off the day at 11:00 AM and the men will follow with an 11:45 AM start.
