Hawkes Collects Third GNAC Rookie Honor

STANDISH, ME - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference has announced that SJC freshman middle blocker Sarah Hawkes (Pownal, ME) has been named Volleyball Rookie of the Week for the third time this fall.

In the final week of the Monks' season, Hawkes netted 42 kills, 26 digs and 11 total blocks. The rookie middle blocker recorded 14 kills against Pine Manor on October 31st and 11 kills vs. USM on October 29th. She also notched her fourth double-double of the year with 10 kills and 10 digs against UNE on October 28th.

Hawkes completes her rookie campaign as the new single-season record holder in kills (325), kills per set (2.95), attack percentage (.280) and total blocks (76). She notched double-digit kills in 16 different games and 10 or more digs in 7 matches as a rookie.

St. Joe's capped the season with a 16-17 overall record and went 4-8 in GNAC play this fall.
