Gajewski Named GNAC Co-Swimmer of the Week

STANDISH, ME - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference has announced its weekly honors, and Saint Joseph's freshman Hannah Gajewski (Biddeford, ME/McAuley) has been named as the Co-Swimmer of the Week. She shares the honor with Saint Joseph College (CT) sophomore Sarah Wheeler (Winchendon Springs, MA).

For the reporting period ending February 22nd, Gajewski, a six-time conference rookie of the week honoree, advanced to the finals in three events at the New England Championships and set a new program record in the 200-IM with a 2:24.56 effort. Her preliminary time of 1:06.81 in the 100-IM was a new team-best as well. The freshman also swam a leg for the 10th place 800-Free Relay team and helped the group post a new team record (8:41.72) in the competition.

For Gajewski, the swimmer of the week honor is her first. She has won 16 individual events this season and has set nine individual program records along the way. She has also participated as a member of three relay teams that have achieved team-best times in her rookie season.
