2012 Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Teams Released

STANDISH, ME – The 2012 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Lacrosse postseason awards have been released and three Saint Joseph's College players have been honored.

Senior attacker Amelia Santos (Beverly, Mass./Bishop Fenwick), sophomore attacker Cassie Diplock (Augusta, Maine/Cony) and sophomore midfielder Anneka Adame (San Diego, Calif./Cathedral Catholic) have all earned Second Team All-GNAC honors. The All-Conference honor is a career-first for all three players.

Santos, a 2012 team tri-captain, netted career-highs in goals (32), assists (27), points (59), shots (82), and shots on goal (62) as a senior. She led the Monks in assists and ranked second on the team in goals and points and her assists total was the second-highest in the conference this spring.

Santos capped her impressive career ranked second in SJC women's lacrosse history in assists (65) and third in both goals (94) and points (159) in 51 contests over four seasons.

Diplock enjoyed a breakout campaign as a sophomore, leading the Royal Blue in goals (58), points (66), free-position goals (11), shots (111) and shots on goal (86) in 2012. She closed out the season ranked fifth in the GNAC in goals and sixth in points and joined Lauren Hagerman '10 and Alyssa Marchant '11 as one of three SJC players to score at least 50 goals in a single season. Diplock's 2012 goal tally is the second-highest in team history and her 11 free-position goals ranks as a new SJC program single-season record.

Adame broke onto the scene by leading the nation – all three NCAA levels – with 6.67 draw controls per game as a rookie and followed up the impressive showing with another fine season in 2012. The second-year starter ranked third on the team in goals (29) and points (32) while pacing the Royal Blue in draw controls (77) and caused turnovers (14) with the second-highest ground ball total (54) on the team this spring.

Under the guidance of third-year Head Coach Anna Gordon, Saint Joseph's posted an 8-6 overall record and played to a 5-4 mark in conference play en route to claiming the fifth seed in the GNAC Tournament this spring. The Monks' season came to an end with a 15-5 setback at the hands of #4 Simmons College in a conference tourney quarterfinal in Boston on April 24th.
