Softball Ranked 7th in Second NEISCA Poll of the Season

STANDISH, ME - The second New England Intercollegiate Softball Coaches Association (NEISCA) weekly poll has been released and Saint Joseph's College (16-4, 9-1 GNAC) is ranked seventh in the region.

The Monks, winners of seven straight, were ranked ninth in last week's poll but moved up two slots this week after splitting with Emerson College - the #6 program in the region - and posting sweeps over Anna Maria College, Suffolk University and University of Southern Maine over the last seven days.

The top four teams in the NEISCA Weekly Poll remain the same as last week as Tufts University (14-3), Eastern Connecticut State University (13-1), Amherst College (19-0) and Keene State College (9-1) regain the first through fourth positions. Western Connecticut State University (13-3), Emerson (17-6), Saint Joseph's, Worcester Polytechnic Institute (14-8), Salem State University (14-6) and Curry College (14-8) round out the weekly rankings.

Bowdoin College and Springfield College also garnered votes this week.

Saint Joseph's will travel to Emmanuel College on Thursday to play the Saints in a GNAC doubleheader slated to start at 6:30 PM.
