Men Place 45th in NCAA Regional

CUMBERLAND, ME - The SJC Men's Cross Country team wrapped up the 2009 season with a 45th place finish, and 1398 team points, in the NCAA New England Regional, held at the Twin Brooks course on Saturday. Jeremy Allen '10 (Rutland, VT) toured the 8K course in 29:40.6 to lead all Monk runners in the event.
Williams College won the event with 53 team points as five Eph runners placed in the top 15, including individual champion Edgar Kosgey, who ran the event in 25:16.2, microseconds ahead of Amherst runner Daniel Murner (25:16.7). Amherst (104 pts) was second, followed by Keene State (132), Brandeis (145) and Bowdoin (153).
For the Monks, Andrew Mockler '12 (Saco, ME) placed 287th overall with a 32:13.9 performance and was followed by Austin Martin '10 (Boca Raton, FL) (295, 32:58.7), Andrew Moravick '10 (Biddeford, ME) (297, 33:15.4) and Jeff Letellier '12 (299, 33:28.2).
Overall, 48 institutions from the New England Region fully participated and 323 runners competed in the event.
