Men's Swimmers Participate in Exhibition

STANDISH, ME - The St. Joe's men's swimmers participated in eight events while the women's team participated in a meet against Husson University.
A pair of freshmen helped make the exhibition a positive experience for the third-year program. Andrew Marshall '13 (Kittery, ME/St. Thomas Aquinas) set a new team record by shaving over two seconds off his previous best in the 500-Free (5:36.12). Eric Jaukkuri '13 (Quincy, MA) continued his improvement and set personal bests in the 50-Fly (32.43), 50-Free (30.20) and 100-Free (1:07.84) events.
Kevin Towne '12 (Shrewsbury, MA) participated in the 200-Free (2:13.63) and 200-Back (2:20.47) competitions and Brian Grasser '12 (Groton, CT) swam in the 50-Free (27.18) and 100-Free (1:01.85) events. Eli Ratner '10 (Cape Elizabeth, ME) also participated in the 50-Free (36.59) and 100-Free (1:21.86) competitions.
Grasser, Jaukkuri, Marshall and Towne all swam legs for both the 200-Medley (2:09.46) and 400-Free (4:08.48) relay teams.
The men's team will spring back into action when both squads travel to Gordon College on Saturday, February 6th (12:00 PM).
