Regis Glides Past Monks, 106-73
WESTON, MA - The Monks swim team lost to Regis, 106-73, on
Sunday afternoon, but set new program records for total points and
lowest deficit in defeat. Individually, the men set six team
records in the event.
Kieran O'Connell ‘12
(Gloucester, MA) paced all SJC men's swimmers with 28 points and
earned the team's lone top individual finish with a 6:50.56 time in
the 500-free event. With a 2:14.18 time, he bested the team record
in the 200-free, which he achieved earlier this season with a time
of 2:23.75 set in the season-opener at Colby-Sawyer.
Jordan Simenas ‘12
(Cambridge, MA) and Kevin Towne
‘12 (Shrewsbury, MA) both accumulated 27 points for the men's
squad and each broke two team records in the process.
Simenas set new marks for the 50-breast (35.36)
and the 100-breast (1:18.95) and Towne set new
records in the 100-back (1:02.75) and 100-IM (1:07.95) events.
Senior captain Pat DeCola
(Methuen, MA) gained 16 points and broke his own record in the
50-fly with a 32.24 performance.

the winning 200-free relay team for Saint Joseph's.
