STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph’s College (20-7, 15-3 GNAC) will appear in the GNAC Championship game for the second time in three years after defeating Norwich University (16-11, 11-7 GNAC), 72-56, in a semifinal tilt at the Alfond Center on Thursday night. Chris Petzy ’12 (Kensington, NH) scored a game-high 21 points off a 6-8 performance from three-point range and added seven caroms in the playoff win.

STANDISH, ME – The SJC Men’s Basketball team will host Norwich University in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference Tournament semifinal contest on Thursday night at 7:00 PM. In order to advance to the semis, the top-seeded Monks (19-7, 15-3 GNAC) defeated #8 Mount Ida College, 82-71, and the #4 Cadets (16-10, 11-7 GNAC) topped #5 Emerson College, 62-44, in the quarterfinal round on Tuesday evening.

The game was the regular-season finale for both teams.

NASHUA, NH – Zach O’Brien ’12 (Schenectady, NY) scored a game-high 20 points and became the 34th member of the Monks Basketball 1,000-point club in a 78-51 Saint Joseph’s (17-7, 14-3 GNAC) victory over Rivier College (12-12, 7-10 GNAC) on Tuesday evening.

Tyler Kelley ’11 (Saco, ME) and Zach O’Brien ’12 (Schenectady, NY) combined to score 58 points in the GNAC victory.

Junior guard Zach O’Brien (Schenectady, NY) led the Monks with 28 points and added five boards and five assists in the loss.
