Monks Ranked First in New England East Region

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The NCAA Division III Field Hockey Committee has released the top teams ranked in each region for the second Division III Field Hockey Poll of the 2009 season and Saint Joseph's College is the top-ranked team in the New England East Region. 

The Monks, 14-3 overall (14-2 against region opponents) and 7-0 in North Atlantic Conference play this fall, earned the top seed for the upcoming NAC Tournament and will host a semifinal match on Wednesday, November 4^th. The winner of the conference tourney received an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.

Nichols (14-3) is ranked second, followed by Endicott (11-7), Wellesley (10-7) and University of New England (13-2). St. Joe's topped both UNE and Endicott earlier this season.
