2011-12 Men's Club Ice Hockey Season Preview

STANDISH, MAINE- Head Coach Todd Keneborus will begin his first season at the helm of the Saint Joseph’s Men’s Club Hockey team, which will begin competition on Saturday, October 29 on the road against Lyndon State at 6 p.m.

The Monks have many new faces to accompany the slew of veterans that return to give St. Joes depth and skill in 2011-12. Among those returners are senior captains TJ Garske and Kyle Bennett, who provide leadership to the young team on and off the ice. Chris Quattrucci, Tom Gagnon, and Jake Diprizio will anchor the top line and be head of the offensive attack.  Juniors Sean Drake and Rich Covell and Sophomores Zach Johnson and Colin Finn will also offer speed in the offensive zone.

The defense led by Bennett and Jake Brown will also be accompanied by sophomores Zach Ethier and Dillon Lyons. Look for freshman Colby Main and Sam Dyer to provide a spark on the blue line as well.

On the back end for the Monks will be junior goaltenders Chris Driscoll and Chris Hunter, who will spilt the time between the pipes.

Saint Joe’s will play University of Maine-Farmington on the road Nov. 3 at Kents Hill Ice Arena, and will return home against the Beavers in their home opener Nov. 19 at USM Ice Arena. The Monks will also match up against Thomas College Dec. 3 at Sukee Ice Arena to finish off the first half of their campaign. They will return back from Christmas break Jan. 16 on the road against Bates College. The Monks will also host Thomas College and Husson University date and time T.B.D.
