Murray Receives Regional Accolade

STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's College sophomore Sam Murray (Walpole, MA) has been named ECAC DIII New England Co-Pitcher of the Week.

Murray tossed a complete-game gem on April 18^th against Albertus Magnus College, as the southpaw allowed just three hits with no walks and four strikeouts in a 4-0 shutout win over the Falcons. All three hits allowed were singles and only two runners reached second base while Murray filled the strike zone, as 62 of 83 (74.7%) pitches were thrown for strikes in the victory.

Murray, recently named GNAC Pitcher of the Week, shares the weekly regional honor with Massachusetts Maritime pitcher Corey Murphy.

As of April 18^th, Murray leads all of NCAA DIII Baseball with 0.25 walks allowed per nine innings and currently leads the SJC staff in ERA (2.21), innings (36.2), complete games (4) and shutouts (2).

St. Joe's (23-10, 9-3 GNAC) will host Southern Maine in a non-conference, nine-inning contest on Wednesday at 4:00 PM.
