GNAC Honors Moran and Pratt

STANDISH, ME – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference has released its weekly honors and two Saint Joseph’s College Baseball players have received awards.

Pitcher and designated hitter Pat Moran ’10 (Winterport, ME/Hampden Academy) has collected GNAC Player of the Week honors and third baseman Mike Pratt ’13 (Dartmouth, MA/Bishop Stang) is the conference Rookie of the Week.

Moran hit 7-14 with four runs, four RBI a double and two home runs in a 3-2 week for the Monks. The 2009 GNAC Player and Pitcher of the Year notched three multiple-hit efforts during the week and went 3-4 with a two-run homer and three RBI in a 6-1 win over Suffolk on Sunday. He also earned the victory on the mound against the Rams with six K’s and one earned run allowed in 5.2 innings.

Through 16 games, Moran is hitting .371 (13-35) with two doubles, two home runs, nine runs scored and 13 RBI. On the mound, the senior righty is 3-0 with a 3.78 ERA and 19 strikeouts in 16.2 innings pitched.

Pratt hit .364 (4-11) with a home run and six RBI last week for the Monks. The freshman third baseman was 3-3 with a longball and five RBI in the nightcap contest against Suffolk on Sunday. Through 16 games, Pratt is hitting .317 (13-41) with two home runs, nine runs scored and 15 RBI. The rookie honor is his second of the young season.

Saint Joseph’s (9-7, 3-1 GNAC) will play at Husson University on Thursday in a non-conference doubleheader starting at 1:00 PM.
