St. Joes Womens Teams Collect GNAC Sportsmanship Honor

STANDISH, ME - The Great Northeast Athletic
Conference has announced its yearly awards and the women's teams at
Saint Joseph's have been honored with the 2008-09 GNAC
Sportsmanship Award. The award recipient is selected by a vote of
all student athletes within the conference.
The award is presented annually to the GNAC athletic program,
institution, student athletes, coaching staff, administrators and
fans that have demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship through their
actions and conduct before, during and after athletic competition.
The Great Northeast Athletic Conference believes that fairness,
honesty, character, courtesy, integrity, class and responsibility
are all examples of good sportsmanship.
Sportsmanship has long been one of the tenets of the GNAC.
Following each season, one individual from each team, as selected
by his/her teammates, is chosen to represent the program on the
conference sportsmanship team. Each sportsmanship team is released
in conjunction with the all-conference selections.
