STANDISH, ME - Six Saint Joseph’s College teams and 12 Monks athletes closed out the 2009-10 campaign ranked in the top 25 of the final NCAA DIII Statistical Rankings. Overall, the six SJC teams accounted for 23 top-25 rankings while the 12 athletes placed in the top 25 in 21 different categories:
TEAMS:
Baseball: 1st in fewest walks allowed per nine innings (2.38), 10th in sacrifice bunts (43), 11th in triples (25), 21st in batting average (.353), 22nd in slugging percentage (.521), 23rd in double plays turned (23)
Men’s Basketball: 1st in fewest personal fouls per game (13.0), 13th in field goal percentage (48.8%), 14th in assists per game (16.7), 23rd in three-point field goal percentage (38.9%)
Field Hockey: 11th in assists per game (2.39), 13th in points per game (9.06), 17th in goals per game (3.33), 17th in scoring margin (1.81), 19th in winning percentage (.778), 20th in goals against average (1.29), 20th in shutouts per game (.33), 21st in scoring average (3.1)
Men’s Lacrosse: 4th in ground balls per game (46.72), 7th in man-down defense (.854), 24th in face-off win percentage (59%)
Women’s Lacrosse: 5th in ground balls per game (30.73)
Men’s Soccer: 25th in save percentage (.852)

Sam Murray (Baseball): 9th in fewest walks allowed per nine innings (1.07)
Julia Ostrowski (Field Hockey): 16th in goals per game (1.0) and 23rd in points per game (2.39)
